- Promoting the Excellence of Pyeongchang’s Agricultural Products to Consumers in the Capital Region
The event focused on promoting the excellence of local agricultural products, including clean cabbage and radishes grown in the highlands of Jinbu-myeon, Pyeongchang, along with traditional seasonings from Gangwon Province, to facilitate direct trade between consumers in the capital region and local farms.
During the kimjang-tasting event, the participants tasted kimjang made with salted cabbage and traditional seasoning. The participants also made kimchi and experienced the uniquely crisp texture and sweet flavor of Pyeongchang Highland cabbage.
A special fair was also held during the festival, allowing consumers to purchase fresh local agricultural products directly, including Pyeongchang’s agricultural specialties and processed goods. The committee plans to expand sales channels for local farmers and help boost their income through the event.
Chairman Jang Moon-hyuk of the Pyeongchang Highland Kimjang Festival Committee said, “Pyeongchang Highland cabbage is a gift from pure nature and the best ingredient for kimjang.” He also commented, “We plan to promote the excellence of Pyeongchang agricultural products nationwide and continue fostering a culture of mutual growth between urban and rural communities through this tasting event at the National Assembly.”
The 2025 Pyeongchang Highland Kimjang Festival will be held from November 5 to 17 in Jinbu-myeon, Pyeongchang. The festival will feature various programs, including a kimjang experience, premium kimchi tasting, traditional games, and agricultural specialty exhibitions.
